Prof. Dr. Tomas Tejero
Tomas Tejero was born in Zaragoza, Spain. He coursed Chemistry at the University of Zaragoza (1980) where he received his Ph.D. (1985) working with Professor E. Melendez. In 1984 he became Assistant Professor and in 1985 he spent a year as a postdoctoral research associate in the University Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris) under the supervision of Prof. J. Normant. In 1986 he returned to Zaragoza and he received his abilitation as Senior Lecturer in 1987. In 2012 he was appointed Full Professor in the Departament of Orgnic Chemistry at the University of Zaragoza. He currently resides in Zaragoza with his wife Teresa, and their sons Sergio (b. 1991) and Claudia (b. 1997). His research interests are focused on the Organic Synthesis of biologically important compounds using nitrones as suitable building blocks. He is particularly interested in enantioselective processes and in the application of old and new spectroscopic techniques to the field of the Asymmetric Synthesis. Actually he is one of the responsibles of the NMR Spectroscopic Service of the University of Zaragoza. He is a member of the Royal Spanish Chemical Society (RSEQ). |
